Okazaki City and Okazaki City Night Time Economy Promotion Council will hold "Okazaki Digital Art Night Festival Workshop Program" on October 29 and 30, 2022 at OTO CLUB (Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture).
This event invites international art director/digital artist Jack Hung and other lecturers to help the next generation of creators improve their skills in digital art as an art form and projection mapping as a technology through group work. The projection mapping images created by the group will be projected onto the 16.4meter wide and 11meter high Otemon Gate, the main entrance to Okazaki Castle, the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
The program is open to students of high school age and above. Participation is free of charge and prior application is required.
The maximum number of participants is 50. If there are too many applicants, the organizer will select the participants.
This is a rare opportunity for international top creators and next-generation creators to exchange and co-create, enhance their creativity and technical skills, and project their works on the Otemon Gate of Okazaki Castle.

*This project was adopted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs' “Japan Cultural Expo“ 2022 as a project to promote the utilization of cultural resources.

*In case of rain, the projection mapping at the Okazaki Castle Otemon gate may be cancelled. In that case, the projection will be held at a later date.

[Eligibility]
・Students who are high school students and above (high school students, college students, junior college students, vocational school students, graduate students, working students, etc.)
・Those who have a PC or tablet and can use "Adobe Photoshop", "Adobe Premiere", or "Adobe After Effects" software (any level is acceptable).
・The lecturer will speak mainly in English, but will be supplemented by the moderator or another lecturer in Japanese as needed.

Lecturer Profile

JACK HUNG
Art Director/Digital Artist
A world-renowned art director/digital artist with roots in two countries, Taiwan and Australia.
He has been based in Sapporo, Japan, Shanghai, China, and Taiwan. He started his career with commercials using motion graphics, pursuing new ways of expression in visual design. In recent years, he has been highly acclaimed for his stage scenography using digital technology.
He has created scenography for large-scale stages for new car launches and other events for automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Land Rover, Porsche, Volkswagen, Toyota, Ford, General Motors, Honda, and Mitsubishi Motors, as well as content for global brands such as Chanel, Macallan, DAKS, ANTA, LEONARD PARIS, Sony, and others. LEONARD PARIS, Sony, and other global brands. He has also designed advertisements for EVA Air in Times Square, New York.
Defender Asia EM Agency Award 2021, Silver Award, Defender Best Brand Activation 2021, Silver Award.

NAGAO TAKAKI
video creator
Born in Hokkaido in 1975. After working for a video game company and a content production company, he established Bronson Inc. in 2011 and serves as Representative Director. He has produced TV commercials and other visual content for Toyota, Honda, Kirin, Suntory, Coca-Cola, NTTdocomo, Tokyo Gas, NEXCO East Japan, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Yokohama F-Marinos, Consadole Sapporo, NHK, Fuji TV, TV Tokyo, HTB, STV, HBC, TVH, and UHB. In addition to producing TV commercials and other video content, he has directed large-scale projection mapping projects such as the Sapporo Snow Festival projection mapping.
We produce video content in a variety of genres, including projection mapping, installations, motion graphics, filming of celebrities and athletes, 3DCG, etc. We have experience producing video content in Canada, Thailand, and Taiwan. HIGASHIYAMA TAKEAKI
Born in Tokyo, 1980. After working for 17 years in broadcasting business management positions at NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) in Tokyo, Sapporo, Nagoya, and other cities, established HITOHATA,INC. in 2019 and the president of the company.
