Okazaki City and Okazaki City Night Time Economy Promotion Council held the "Gomangoku Fuji Festival Okazaki Castle Otemon Projection Mapping 2022" on April 29 (Fri., holiday) and 30 (Sat.), 2022 at Okazaki Castle Otemon (Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture).
In conjunction with the Gomangoku Fuji Festival held at Okazaki Castle Park, images of wisteria flowers that Okazaki City pride on and Mikawa Fireworks which is Okazaki City's traditional industry, such as contemporary digital art contents were projected on Otemon. Otemon is the main gate of Okazaki Castle, the birthplace of Ieyasu Tokugawa.
The special version in collaboration with the performance of the Great Ieyasu "Aoi" warlord were projected for the first time.

* Approximately 6 minutes of content was continuously projected with an intermission of approximately 5 minutes in between.
* The first projection was a special version in collaboration with the performance of the Great Ieyasu "Aoi" warlord. (A special version was performed for about 6 minutes, and every 30 minutes thereafter)

* This project is a collaborative experiment with start-up companies (growth-type entrepreneurs) who have solutions that are not bound by conventional methods, utilizing advanced ICT technology, etc., with the aim of solving social issues facing Okazaki City. It was implemented as part of the "Urban Innovation OKAZAKI" initiative, which aims to implement.
About Okazaki Castle Otemon
Otemon was rebuilt in 1993 as a building suitable for the front entrance of Okazaki Park. (Height 11m, Width 16.4m, Depth 6.3m)
Locally produced granite is used for the stone walls, and the roof of the Irimaya-style roof is covered with Edo-style roof tiles.
The original Okazaki Castle Otemon was located to the south of the current Joruri-ji Temple (about 200m northeast).
According to the records of the Edo period, Otemon was "10 girders, 2 girders and 4 shakus".
About the Gomangoku Fuji Festival
The approximately 1,300 square meters of wisteria trellis along the Otogawa embankment on the south side of Okazaki Park is called "Gomangoku Fuji" and is designated as a natural monument of Okazaki City as well as a famous tree of Okazaki City's hometown.
The old stock, which is estimated to be over 120 years old, has a trunk circumference of 2.4 meters, branches of 11 meters, and spikes of about 1 meter. Many people visit every year because of its long flower clusters, wonderful purple flowers, and sweet scent.
